Boy’s District basketball results from last night in class 1A: A game you heard on KILJ had the Winfield Mt. Union Wolves beat Maharishi 63-35, Max Fricke scored 14 points, Garrett Baker had 12 and Klayton booth had 11. The Pioneers end the year 3-19, WMU advances to play Keota Thursday night with a 7-15 record.
New London defeated Harmony 56-40 led by Quincy porter with 17 points and 11 rebounds. The Tigers will now take their 7-15 record to Danville Thursday night to play the #1 ranked Bears. Other Thursday matchups will have Van Buren at Holy Trinity Catholic and Waco at Pekin.
Class 2A: Central Lee defeated West Burlington 49-41, the Falcons end the year 7-15, the Hawks advance to the next round against Notre Dame Thursday on the Nikes court.
Wapello scored an 80-69 win over Columbus Community, the Indians now play at Mediapolis Thursday.

The girls class 1A and 2A regional basketball tournaments resume tonight. KILJ-FM 105.5 and kilj.com will carry the Waco at Winfield Mt. Union game. Waco won in the opening round of the Regional last week over Harmony, while WMU won over New London. Tonight’s winner will play Friday night at Burlington Notre Dame against the winner of the Notre Dame vs Danville game being played tonight at Notre Dame. Lisbon vs Cedar Valley Christian at Lone Tree and Prince of Peace plays at Preston.
Class 2A regional action has Wapello @ Highland, Durant @ Iowa City Regina, Tipton @ West Branch and North Cedar @ North Linn. Colfax Mingo @ Woodward Granger, Central Decatur plays Des Moines Christian @ Urbandale, Van Buren at Pella Christian and Eddyville Blakesburg @ North Mahaska.

The MPHS boy’s basketball team closes out their regular season at home tonight hosting Marion. M.P. is coming off a win at home Friday night over Washington where they clinched the Southeast Conference Title again. Marion is 10-10 on the season and coming off losses to Central DeWitt and Williamsburg. JV game begins at 6 p.m. and varsity game will follow.
OTHER AREA BOYS GAMES: Burlington at Bettendorf, Keokuk at Quincy Notre Dame.

The Burlington JV girls defeated the Mt. Pleasant JV basketball team last night in Panther Gym 52-51 in overtime.
The Mt. Pleasant Panther freshmen boys wrapped up their season Friday night with a win over Washington 56-43, Keegan Pullis scored 23 points and Tyler Batten added 20. The freshmen ended the year 2-12.

The Mt. Pleasant Middle School 7th grade girl’s basketball team hosted Fairfield Monday.
