Colon cancer is one of the most easily curable cancers if found early and one of only two cancers that can actually be prevented thru screening. Unfortunately, a lot of people are apprehensive about having a colonoscopy so only about 39 percent of coleorectal cancers are diagnosed in the early stages. I recently lost my husband to colon cancer. He was 55. I am convinced if he would have had a colonoscopy at 50 he would still be with me. March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. If you are 50 or older and have not had a colonoscopy I urge you to schedule one immediately. I had one at age 51. It’s easy, painless and necessary. And it will most likely save your life.
