From the Henry County Sheriff’s Office

Written by on March 18, 2013 in News

It turns out the car fire last Thursday on Ash Avenue was accidental. Following an investigation the Henry County Sheriff’s office determined two juveniles from Wayland had been fishing when they got their car stuck in a field drive. Deputies believe the fire occurred when they were trying to drive the vehicle out of the drive.
A semi went into the ditch at Merrimac Road and Clayton Avenue Friday night. The driver, Kory Wehling of Diller, Nebraska was delivering hogs in the area. He became lost and was trying to make a turn when the semi trailer tires went into the ditch.
Also on Friday, the Henry County Sheriff’s department received a report that someone was standing outside a truck in the 1200 grid of Quaker Avenue shooting at road signs. The truck was found later in Louisa County. As a result of the investigation, 18 year old Nathan Boyer of Oakville was charged with reckless use of a firearm and tampering with road signs.
