Both Van Buren and Harmony are now looking for new leadership. Earlier this week Supt Dennis Phelps told the Harmony school board he will resign after 3 years with the district. Lisa Beames just recently announced her resignation from the supt. job at Van Buren. Phelps announcement at the school board meeting followed a discussion of the possibility of sharing a supt. with Van Buren. Phelps will become the supt. for the Pekin school district, getting him a lot closer to where he lives with his wife in Victor and closer to family. Phelps resignation is effective June 30.
