Virgil Lee Halm, 72, of Donnellson, Iowa, passed away at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at the Donnellson Health Center, Donnellson, Iowa.
Born July 2, 1940 in Fort Madison, Iowa the son of George and Juanita (Meeks) Halm.
Survivors include his one son Rick Halm, three daughters Cheryl (Kevin) Elmore of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Leea (Joe) Brown of Mount Pleasant, Iowa and Angela Washburne of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, six grandchildren Ashley, Allison, Thomas, Kristen, Cody and Kyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Wanda Sue Haley.
Virgil was a member of the Bethel Bible Church in rural Donnellson. He was a lifelong farmer and a truck driver for Heartland Express. Virgil loved being on the farm working on tractors and mowing.
Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson, Iowa. Where the family will meet with friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson, Iowa with Pastor Jamey Stout officiating.
Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison, Iowa
A memorial has been established in his memory.
