Their latest album Tornado gave them their first CMA win for “Vocal Group of the Year” and single of the year for “Pontoon” and is up for ACM album of the year award. This album contains the current hits “Tornado” and “Pontoon”. “Pontoon also garnered them a Grammy for best duo/country performance. Little Big Town was founded in 1998 with the same four members that make up the band today. Unlike most bands, there is no designated lead singer as they all take on that role to fit the song. Little Big Town is sure to please everyone in the arena
Saturday night’s entertainment gets underway at 7:30 p.m. with the Rodeo performers taking center stage. They will be followed by one of country music’s most notable artist, Rodney Atkins. Atkins has been entertaining country music fans with his easy going, down home sound since 2003. He’s had six number one hits from his first three albums, from “Watching You” and “These Are My People” to his most recent smashes, “Take A Back Road,” and “Farmer’s Daughter,” (which quickly skyrocketed to platinum,) and he’s sold over four million singles in the past five years alone. The lead single and title track, “Take A Back Road,” has propelled him to even bigger heights with its irresistibly catchy chorus and easygoing, windows down, breezy summer vibe. Still Rodney is the same, hard-working, patriotic, rock-solid country boy that fans have grown to know and love.
“I have been involved with the Tri-State Rodeo for the past 13 years and every year brings its own excitement and sense of anticipation. This year we think we have put together great national music acts with Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins to complement the always great rodeo performances. I want to personally invite everyone out to the 66th annual Tri-State Rodeo to experience the best entertainment value in Southeast Iowa,” commented Bob Huffman, the 2013 General Chairman.
The Tri-State Rodeo Committee is also pleased to welcome to C.E. “Eddie” Richards Arena specialty act, Niki Flundra, Unbridled.
