Erma Deere

Erma M. Deere, 89, of Croton, Iowa, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Donnellson Health Center, Donnellson, Iowa.

Born June 3, 1923 in Greenburg, Missouri the daughter of Ambrose J. and Sina (Corwin) Phillips. On April 5, 1947 she married Forrest L. Deere in Fort Madison, Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2009.

Survivors include her two sons Jerry (Deborah) Deere of Ottumwa, Iowa and David (Callie) Deere of Charles City, Iowa, two daughters Debbie Woods of Farmington, Iowa and Brenda Williams of Burlington, Iowa, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one sister Vera Hodges of Aledo, Illinois, one brother Dennis Phillips of Window Rock, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Forrest.

Erma worked as an aid at the Donnellson Health Center retiring after forty years of service. She was a member of the Croton Community Club and she enjoyed playing Bingo, Bunco, gardening and canning.

Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington, Iowa. Where the family will meet with friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Croton Cemetery, Croton, Iowa with Pastor Andy Bunnell officiating.

Memorials may be made in her memory to the Croton Community Club.
