John Greenfield

John L. Greenfield, 85, of Centerville, OH, formerly of Douds died Wed. April 10, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born July 17, 1928 in Douds-Leando to Earl and Gelenne Greenfield. He graduated from Douds High School, served in the U.S. Army in Germany, worked at Douds Quarry, as a ranch hand in Montana and installed fences with Great Lakes Fence Co. The family lived for a time in Tennessee where he was a manufacturing engineer for Gabriel Corp. and many years in Ohio where he was a mfg. engineer for General Motors Corp, retiring in 1992. John was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy whom he met in a Chicago train station, two daughters, Loretta Gaul and Karen Yoder (Darrell), 3 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Genevieve Rogel and Donna McClaren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Robert and Donald Greenfield and a sister, Rosemary Kacsala.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday April 15, 2013 at Schlientz & Moore Funeral Home, Centerville, OH. Memorials to American Cancer Society may be mailed to the family at 715 Springridge Place, Centerville, OH 54459.
