On May 17, 18 year old Dillen Eaves from Ft. Madison, Iowa, was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Commit Terrorism, a class B felony, and Conspiracy to Commit Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, a class C felony.
The Division of Criminal Investigation, along with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Ft. Madison Police Department, Keokuk Police Department, Division of Narcotics and the ATF conducted an investigation after receiving information that Dillen Eaves had asked another individual to conduct drive by shootings on the homes of two law enforcement officers. Information obtained during the investigation revealed that Eaves supplied the gun to be used in the drive by shootings and paid the person $1200 in January, 2013. Fortunately, the drive by shootings were never carried out.
Dillen Eaves is currently detained at the Lee County Jail awaiting an initial appearance before the court.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
