Carol Nemitz to be honored with retirement reception at Iowa Wesleyan

Iowa Wesleyan College will host a reception in honor of Carol Nemitz on Thursday, May 16, 2013, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. in the Social Hall of the IWC Student Union.
The public is invited.
Nemitz will retire this month after working for Iowa Wesleyan for nearly 50 years.
She joined the Iowa Wesleyan College staff in 1963 as counselor for women and instructor of psychology. She has served as dean of women, dean of student personnel services, vice president of student affairs and dean of students, vice president for institutional relations, acting president and special assistant to the president.
She was the first female to serve as a vice president at Iowa Wesleyan and is the only woman to serve as interim president for the College.
Nemitz was awarded an honorary degree by Iowa Wesleyan in 2003. She has received the Alumni Service Award and the Distinguished Alumnus Award. During this year’s Commencement ceremonies she was granted the Iowa Wesleyan College Distinguished Service Award.
The Carol J. Nemitz Suites are named in her honor.
