Wet, Wet May

Written by on May 31, 2013 in News

May was a wet month, a really wet month, one of the wettest the state of Iowa has ever seen. At the KILJ studios were collected 11 inches of rain over the 31 days. 2.4” during the 24 hour period of the 28th to the 29th was the biggest rain at one time. The average high temperature was 72 degrees with the warmest reading recorded May 15th at 89 degrees. The average low temperature was 50 degrees with the coolest temperature recorded at 32 degrees on May 13th and 14th. There has been considerable flooding in the area during May so everyone hopes June returns to normal so farmers can farm and everyone else can get yard and garden work done.
