Richard R. “Dick” Anderson

Richard R. “Dick” Anderson, 59, of Fort Madison, Iowa, passed away 12:13 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.

Born June 9, 1953 in Rantoul, Illinois the son of Leroy and Shirley (Laws) Anderson.

Survivors include his mother Shirly Anderson of Ottumwa, Iowa, two sons Jason (Jenny) Anderson of Keokuk, Iowa and Jeremy (Nikki) Anderson of Stockport, Iowa, seven grandchildren, special friend Megan McMillan, four sisters Debbie Anderson from Iowa, Terri (Don) Prince from Missouri, Julie Cohn from Texas and Kim Saubers from Texas, one brother Eric Anderson from Iowa and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Leroy Anderson and his grandparents William and Pauline Laws.

Dick worked as a tree trimmer for Mike’s Tree Service. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was active in Alcoholics Anonymous and drug court and he was a hard worker.

Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson where the family will meet with friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. that evening.

A memorial has been established in his memory.
