The start time for the varsity baseball double header vs Muscatine on Saturday, June 1st, at Mt. Pleasant have been moved to a 4:00 p.m. start time, instead of 1:00 p.m. 

25 minutes prior to the start of the game,  we will have a ceremony dedicating our new backstop in honor of the families that contributed memorial funds to our school for this project.  We will be honoring the families of Dave Rose, Loyd Rose, John H. Liechty, and Pat “Sodie” Fountain. 

 

The MPHS softball team is scheduled to play in the Danville Tournament today.

 

The softball games that were postponed Thursday night have been rescheduled.

The varsity softball games vs. Ft. Madison from May 30th have been rescheduled for June 11th at Mt. Pleasant at 5:30 p.m.

The junior varsity softball games vs. Ft. Madison from May 30th have been rescheduled for June 20th at Ft. Madison at 5:30 p.m

 

Mt. Pleasant High School is involved in another state tournament this weekend as the MPHS trap shooting team is in competition at Waverly Saturday.

 

Scott Lamm out going boys track coach at Mt. Pleasant High School has been selected to serve as one of the coaches for the Senior All Star Spotlight Track and Field meet to be held at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Ill. Highlighting track and field talent from Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin.  The meet will be held June 8th.  Coach Lamm will take with him 3 members of the 2013 Mt. Pleasant Panther track team, hurdler Tommy Thorne and throwers Justin Dunn and Emmett Wester.

 

Once again Mother Nature chose not to be kind to 34 Raceway this past weekend forcing cancellation of both Saturday and Sunday Nights racing action on the double header weekend. The Brockway Mechanical Sprint Invaders races schedule for Sunday, May 26 have been postponed to July 3.

This Saturday will be Louisa Communications and Perfect Metals Night at the races. The UMP Super Late Models will return along with the W.T. Gabeline and Sons Trucking 305 Sprints, Coors Silver Bullet IMCA Modifieds, Pepsi IMCA Stock Cars, I Connect You/Louisa Communications

4 Cylinders and The Weikert Iron and Metal IMCA Sport Mods.

As part of their 2013 fundraising effort, Team Southeast Iowa and Tailgating for Crohn’s & Colitis is having the 3nd Annual Tailgating for Crohn’s and Colitis charity event at Deerwood Golf Club in New London, Ia.  This year Team Southeast Iowa for Crohn’s & Colitis is making the event bigger and better! They will kick off the event on Friday, September 13th, 2013 with an 18-hole 4 person best shot golf tournament.  Then on Saturday, September 14th the tailgate event for the Iowa vs Iowa State football game will be held at Deerwood Country Club.  All proceeds from the event will be donated to Take Steps for Crohn’s and Colitis through Team Southeast Iowa.
