Midwest Old Threshers announces a new route for the Annual Harvest Day Parade on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. This year’s Grand Marshal Delores (DP) Poulter-Wilson will lead the cars, tractors, horses, floats, Mt. Pleasant Panther Marching Band and even a few steam engines west on Washington Street.
Cars, tractors, horses, and steam engines will line up on the Old Threshers grounds and travel north along Walnut Street meeting up with the floats, Mt. Pleasant Marching Band and other community participant’s at Sheaffer Park. They will continue onto Washington Street where they will turn west. The straightaway down Washington Street will not only showcase the newly improved city street, but it will also allow spectators more room to watch the procession without any parked cars in their way. The route will continue onto south Jefferson Street, east on Clay Street and returning to McMillan Park.
Midwest Old Threshers has been working closely with the City of Mt. Pleasant as well as Mt. Pleasant Police Department to make this change beneficial to everyone.
Any new or old parade participants interested in registering a parade entry, please call Terry at Midwest Old Threshers 319-385-8937 or email for the new parade details.
