Re-zoning Request Passes First Reading

Written by on June 20, 2013 in News

The Henry County Supervisors held the first reading of an ordinance to change zoning for property at the corner of Hwy 34 and 260th Street near New London. The property owner, Jerry Dupree, made the request to have his parcel re-zoned from agriculture to commercial. He has plans to open a motorcycle repair business on the property. However, adjacent landowners Verne and Deb Schmitt, oppose Dupree’s plan and the request for re-zoning. The supervisors did pass the first reading even tho there is some concern on the supervisors part regarding the drive way onto Dupree’s property.
