Report on Mt. Pleasant Utilities Meeting

The Mt. Pleasant utilities board met this week. Utilities manager Jack Hedgecock updated the board on the upcoming work in the alley west of Two Rivers Bank. Work is expected to start June 24. The utilities will replace the electric distribution system located in the alley right of way. The utilities share of the total estimated project cost is $24,500. The city is re-doing the alley, not only to fix the surface, but also to correct the drainage. Two Rivers is also re-doing its parking lot adjacent to the alley.
Mt. Pleasant Utilities is also working with the city on improvements to Central Park. Preliminary work will begin soon, however, most of the project won’t be completed until after Labor Day. New water and electric services will be installed. The Utilities share will be about $35,000 for electric and $50,000 for water service .
