Fairfield swept Mt. Pleasant in Southeast Conference softball Monday night, Lady Trojans won the opener 11-0 and the night cap 12-0. Jena Stuckerjuergon was the losing pitcher in the first game, Morgan Fraise was 2-3 at the plate. In the 2nd game Jena Stukerjuergon suffered the loss in the circle, Ali Dorn and Bailey Johnson had hits. Panthers host Ft. Madison in a rain makeup double header at home tonight.

Mt. Pleasant split with Fairfield in Southeast Conference baseball Monday night, Trojans won the first game 6-0 and the Panthers took the night cap 11-1. Austin Gridley of Fairfield threw a no hitter at M.P. in the opening game, Connor Shull threw a 5 hitter for the Panthers.
In game 2, Dustin Amos got the win on the mound and Mt. Pleasant out hit Fairfield 13-3 led by Justin Dilks and Tyler Pace who were 3 for 3, Dilks had 2 doubles and 2 RBI’s and Pace had 3 RBI’s.
MPHS is 5-6 overall and 3-1 in the Southeast conference.

Mitch Anderson has been approved by the Mt. Pleasant Community School District Board of Directors as the new head boys track coach at MPHS replacing Scott Lamm who has taken over the Activities Director position. Anderson has been serving as distance coach for the track team and also serves as head cross country coach.
Also there is discussion going on that Brennan Williams will move up as the head girls soccer coach to replace Ed Chabal who resigned from that position, Williams has been serving as assistant coach.
The Little Tigers Youth Football Camp will run at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant June 17th thru 19th for athletes entering grades 1-5. Spend some time with Tiger head football coach Tom Parkevich along with his staff and some of the Tiger players as they teach you the early fundamentals of football and team sports. The camp runs from 9-11 a.m. each day, each athlete should come to camp in shorts and t-shirt and can wear cleats if they have them and please bring water or sports drink for breaks. Cost is just $40 for each participant, if you have questions call coach Parkevich at 385-6382.

The Iowa Wesleyan College Tigers’ cross country/track teams are selling IWC XC/Track apparel as a fundraiser in order to get some warm up/practice gear that each student-athlete can keep as his/her own.
