The Mt. Pleasant Panther baseball team is to play in the Williamsburg tournament today, playing Logan Magnolia and then the host school.
The Iowa High School Athletic Association has announced the Class 1A and 2A district sites and teams, the schedule will be announced in a couple of weeks. Class 1A has Danville and Highland hosting district games and Iowa City West will host the substate final. Teams competing in district #8 are: Danville, Highland, Holy Trinity Catholic, IMS, Lone Tree, New London, Burlington Notre Dame, Van Buren and Winfield Mt. Union/Waco.
Class 2A has Wapello hosting the district and Fairfield the substate final. Teams competing are: Central Lee, Columbus Community, Mediapolis, Mid Prairie, West Burlington and Wapello.
Raheem Black outstanding hurdler from Ft. Madison High School has signed a national letter of intent to run track at UNI in Cedar Falls. Black is a 2 time state champion in the 400 meter hurdles and won the Drake Relays 400 hurdles in 2012.

JV/V baseball at Oskaloosa from June 4th has been rescheduled for July 11th at Oskaloosa at 5:30 p.m.
JV softball: Washington at Mt. Pleasant from June 6th has been rescheduled for July 3rd at Mt. Pleasant at 12:00 p.m., noon.
JV baseball: Washington at Mt. Pleasant from June 6th has been rescheduled for July 16th at Mt. Pleasant at 12:00 p.m., noon.
The Little Tigers Youth Football Camp will run at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant June 17th thru 19th for athletes entering grades 1-5. Spend some time with Tiger head football coach Tom Parkevich along with his staff and some of the Tiger players as they teach you the early fundamentals of football and team sports. The camp runs from 9-11 a.m. each day, each athlete should come to camp in shorts and t-shirt and can wear cleats if they have them and please bring water or sports drink for breaks. Cost is just $40 for each participant, if you have questions call coach Parkevich at 385-6382.
