Two people were injured in a three vehicle accident in Mt. Pleasant Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred in front of HyVee on East Washington Street when a car turned into the path of a motorcycle. Betty Lou Binning was driving west on Washington. She turned left into the path of a motorcycle operated by Joshua Bradley of New London. The vehicles collided and Bradley was thrown from the motorcycle. The impact caused the Binning car to rotate and strike the back of a truck driven by Jason Burgus of Winfield. The Burgess vehicle was stopped at the Prairie Avenue Washington intersection. Bradley was transported by Medforce helicopter to University Hospitals in Iowa City. Binning was taken by ambulance to HCHC. Burgess was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
