Marjorie R. Sayre, 77 of Keosauqua died at 3:21 P.M. Wednesday Aug. 28, 2013 at her home.
She was born July 12, 1936 at Mechanicsburg, IL to Donald and Dorothy Moore Crowe and married David Sayre on Sep. 11, 1954 at the Keosauqua United Methodist Church.
Marjorie lived most of her life in Keosauqua and worked as a social worker for the Dept. of Human Services, serving the counties of Van Buren, Jefferson, Wapello and Keokuk. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and had worked on the Van Buren County Election Board.
Surviving are her husband, David, a son Steve Sayre of Keosauqua, a daughter, Rita Tedrow of Keosauqua, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a brother, Gene Crowe of Keosauqua and a sister, Doris Overstreet of Viola, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday Aug. 31, 2013 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, Minister Kevin Mote officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Cantril. Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 1592 Broad St., Keosauqua, IA 52565.
