Bonaparte Main Street will host their eleventh annual “Taste of Chocolate” on Saturday, September 14, 2013. Taking place at the Whiteley Opera House located at 614 First Street in Bonaparte, Iowa, the event will run from 1:00 until 4:00 in the afternoon.

This event offers homemade chocolate confections in bite size pieces displayed for you to indulge in creating your own special box of goodies. Rich, chocolaty treats and delicacies will be sold by the pound for guests to take home and enjoy.

Promotion chair, Dana Mabe, says, “This is a chocoholic’s paradise.” She goes on to explain that the Taste not only lets guests choose chocolate delights they may not make for themselves but gives our bakers the opportunity to try new recipes.

Wine tasting will be sponsored by the Bonaparte Pottery at the Taste of Chocolate featuring a chocolate wine created by Tassel Ridge Winery.

The Bonaparte Historical Society is selling tickets on several different chocolate related items and gift baskets. The drawing will be at the end of the Taste.

The Burns Gallery and Tea Emporium will host a tea tasting featuring a chocolate tea at 604 First Street and a scavenger hunt with all things chocolate will be offered by the local downtown businesses.

In conjunction with the Taste of Chocolate, the Bonaparte Fourth of July Committee will have vendors in the park featuring antique, flea market, craft, and home party items.
