Ft. Madison handed the Mt. Pleasant Panthers a loss in district football action Friday night on the Bloodhounds field by a 16-0 score.  Cruz Fedler scored on 2 10 yard runs in the first half and F.M. added a 4th quarter safety for the games scoring.  Mt. Pleasant once again struggled offensively as they never mounted a serious scoring threat.  The offense had just 56 yards rushing 49 by Carson Remick and 14 yards passing with Blake Knudsen catching that pass.  Leading the defense for M.P.:  Carson Remick, Austin Smith, Keegan Pullis, Tyler Ruby and Justin Dilks.

Next week is homecoming week for the Panthers, they host Centerville.

Mt. Pleasant came from behind to win the freshman game 34-28.  Dshondric Foster had 3 touchdowns, Zach Ebling and Brock Wilson also scored.  Defensively Thad Williams, Julian Schwartz and Ryan Moutrie were the leaders.

The JV teams of the two schools meet on Evans Field Monday night.

Today will be Mount Pleasant Community School District Elementary Day at the Iowa Wesleyan College football game. All elementary school students in the Mount Pleasant school district will be given free admission to the Tigers’ home game against the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars. The game will begin at 12:00 p.m. at Mapleleaf Stadium in Mount Pleasant.

For Saturday’s Football game against University of Minnesota-Morris will be a “PURPLE OUT” game.  Wear PURPLE!! 

 

Holy Trinity Catholic junior Mikaela Foecke slammed her 1,200th career kills in a sweep over Central Lee September 12. She is the first player in HTC history to record 1200 career kills.

 

The 2013 season is nearing the end but there is one more race at 34 Raceway that fans won’t want to miss.  The Sprint Invaders Season Championship will decide the 2013 Sprint Invaders Championship this Saturday, Sept. 21. Russ Hall leads the point race with 2279 but the battle for second in the standings sees just a one point difference between Dustin Selvage (2178) and Ryan Jamison (2177).  Also on the card will be the IMCA Modifieds back for the first time since Season Championship night, August 24 and the 4 Cylinders.  For more information go to www.34raceway.com or facebook – 34 Raceway.

Saturday, Sept. 28 will wrap up the 2013 season at 34 Raceway with the Quads, Bikes and Side X Sides. With jut $5 grandstand admission, fans will see plenty of turns, jumps and side by side action.
