Iowa Wesleyan College Homecoming is the week of October 7 and for alumni specifically, October 11 and 12. This year’s Homecoming will celebrate the contributions of former Dean Carol Nemitz and her many years of faithful service to the college. Division of Alumni: ALU 501 mini-classes
A series of mini-classes will be taught by Iowa Wesleyan College faculty and staff. Topics include: Service Teaching in Lithuania, IWC in the Roaring 20s, Global Perspectives via Study Abroad, and Sickle Cell Anemia. All classes will be held in the Howe Student Activity Center.
Dr. Donald A. Gurnett of the University of Iowa will present “The Iowa Space Pioneers: The Legacy of James A. Van Allen” on Friday, October 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Science Hall Auditorium.

Artist Reception and Dessert Bar
Artist Betty Clark Schmidt’s works will be featured in the P.E.O. Building Art Gallery from 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. At noon, members of the Live Poets Society will share their poetry based on Schmidt’s artwork.
The 2013 Homecoming Parade will begin on campus at 10:30 a.m. and will continue south on Broadway/Jefferson, turn east on Madison, and north on Main Street to return to campus.
