Here’s an update of work at Mt. Pleasant’s Central Park: Zaiser Construction is installing the light pole bases around the perimeter of the square with plans of completion today. They will then be installing light pole bases around the fountain. That should be completed by October 7th or 8th, weather permitting. Mike Nelson Concrete will be pouring the bump outs on the NE and NW corners of the square with perimeter sidewalk work starting today. That has a planned completion date of October 11th, again weather permitting. All parking stalls should be striped by October 14th. Traffic should be reversed around the square on Tuesday, October 15th back to clockwise and parking will be allowed around the interior of the square. A milling contractor will then mobilize when they will be shaping the remaining side of the street surface to blend the milling, asphalt overlay and some concrete patching. This should be completed by Friday, October 25th. Mike Nelson’s crew will start the interior of the square’s sidewalk work starting October 14th with their end date set for October 25th. That leaves finishing the grading and seeding by Kinney and Sons and Mt. Pleasant Municipal Utilities installation work after the 25th.
