Randolph Lee Andrews, age 57, of 507 Iowa Joe St., Apt. F4, West Point, Iowa was arrested on October, 29, 2013 and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Injury Accident, a Serious Misdemeanor. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on Sunday, October 27, 2013 on County Road 103 northwest of Fort Madison.

Randolph Lee Andrews (Andrews) was driving northwest on County Road 103 approximately 1.5-2 miles northwest of Fort Madison on Sunday, October 27, 2013 and struck William Joseph Londrie, age 21, of 511 Chestnut, Montrose, Iowa. Londrie was walking near the roadway. Andrews did not stop at the accident scene, but drove his vehicle to his home in West Point.

The Sheriff’s Office had gathered vehicle parts and debris from the accident scene and was searching for a 2001-2005 red Grand Am, and had requested assistance from the public through media and Facebook. The public response led authorities to Andrews, who owns a red Grand Am that recently sustained major damage. The vehicle was located at his residence and impounded at the Sheriff’s Office.

William Joseph Londrie was transported to Blessing hospital in Quincy, IL by AirEvac for treatment of serious injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
