John F. Williams III, 50, of Mt. Pleasant, and formerly of Bushnell, IL, died Monday, September 30, 2013 at his residence.
A funeral service for Mr. Williams will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant, IA. The Rev. Gary Van Nyhuis, Associate Pastor, Faith Christian Outreach Church, will officiate. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. John Francis Williams III was born September 8, 1963 in Macomb, IL. He was the son of John Francis and Joyce (nee Ferris) Williams II. He was raised in Bushnell, IL. He had been previously married to Delilah Ellen (nee Gum) Williams and Dorothy (nee Schlindwein) Williams. Mr. Williams was a licensed electrician and a former longtime employee of Midwest Control Products in Bushnell. For several years, John worked for the family business, Boden Amusements, a traveling carnival where John was primarily responsible for the Ferris Wheel. He would amaze bystanders in his ability to walk the Ferris Wheel while assembling and disassembling the ride.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Taylor and her husband Nick of Ottumwa; a step son, Luke Schlindwein of Roseville, IL; a step daughter, Maria Johnson of Burlington, IA; 2 brothers – Darwin Boden of Fredonia, KS and Daryl Boden of Bushnell; 5 sisters – Jean Mattson of Burlington, Elizabeth Williams of Phoenix, AZ, Jolene Stenwall of Elmwood, IL, Tonya Hawk of Bushnell and Terri Farwell of Fredonia, and 5 grandchildren.
His father and step mother, John and Gloria Williams II, his mother and step father, Raymond and Joyce Boden and a daughter, Georgia Gum, precede John in death.
