Keokuk handed Mt. Pleasant a 33-7 defeat in district football action Friday night on the Chiefs home field.  The Panthers fell behind 20-0 before getting on the board late in the 1st half with a 1 yard touchdown run by Carson Remick after Austin Smith had blocked a punt.  Keokuk scored on their very next possession to build the lead back up to 20 at halftime.  Offensive production was once again very low for the Panthers as they had only 38 yards rushing on 32 tries, 6 of 12 passing resulted in 50 yards and only 5 first downs were picked up by the Panthers.  Keokuk put up 308 yards of total offense.

Ben Canby and Carson Remick led Mt. Pleasant on defense.  Next week will close out the 2013 season for M.P., they host Williamsburg a team who won in non district play against Vinton-Shellsburg 43-0.

Mt. Pleasant won the freshman game 51-7, after leading at halftime 37-7.  Pat Canby had 4 touchdowns, Levi Parkevich had an 85 yard kickoff return for a score, Ryan Moutrie caught a touchdown pass from Brock Wilson and Dshondric Foster also scored.
