Iowa Wesleyan College students, staff and faculty invite local community members to join them in collecting donations for the families in Illinois who were affected by tornados this past weekend. Tornados damaged parts of Pekin, East Peoria, Washington as well as other surrounding communities and destroyed cars, trees, power lines and homes. Many Iowa Wesleyan students are from this area of Illinois and several will be making trips to the affected area to deliver donated items. Items that are requested for donation are: plastic tubs/storage bins, bottled water, nonperishable food, blankets, baby formula, regular household and hygiene items, toilet paper, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and deodorant. The first trip to deliver donations to the East Peoria Expo Center for distribution will be this Friday, November 22 and the second will be Tuesday, November 26. All donations can be dropped off at the Office of Student Life in the Student Center, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
