From the County Supervisors Meeting

There will be a public hearing December 3 at 9:30 regarding the sale of county land in the Mt. Pleasant Crossroads Business Park. Endodonic Specialists have made a purchase offer of $100,000 for approximately 2.8 acres of land at the corner of Iris and Washington. Anyone wishing to speak to this issue is welcome to come to the public hearing in the Henry County Supervisors office.

This morning the Henry County Supervisors approved an agreement with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad and the state of Iowa for safety improvements at Marsh and Nebraska Avenues. The railroad is upgrading the lights and signals at these two crossing so there is no cost to the county. The county must agree to continue to maintain the signage and approaches.
Also at the meeting this morning the supervisors decided it’s all right with them if Jefferson County joins Southeast Iowa Links. This is the new regional organization formed to provide mental health services. The other counties in the region are having the same discussion. The re-organization board for the region will then vote. Supervisor Marc Lindeen is Henry County’s representative on that board.
