Mt. Pleasant High School Silver Cord students were busy this month spreading Christmas cheer. December 6 nine students came to school early to fill out almost 1,000 holiday cards for wounded soldiers. The cards were sent to the Brooke Army Medical Center and to the Red Cross for Holiday Mail for soldiers. Silver Cord coordinator April Pforts said this wouldn’t have been possible without the generous contribution of cards from people in the community and school district. The participating students were Dalton Krum, Jacob Crooks. Le Luu, Megan Shumaker, Elissa Monteiro, Hollie Mathews, Dale Taylor, Kane Jacobs, and Alexis Wynn. And then on December 13, Silver Cord students got up early to come to school and make holiday cards for the residents of local care centers. Pforts said it was great to see the students give of themselves when they could have slept in. Participating students were Raime Dossett, Dalton Krum, Ashley Schinstock, Megan Shumaker, Delayna Cotton, Le Luu, Megan Hoenig, Alexis Wynn, and Jarrett Hoenig.
