The Iowa Wesleyan College men’s basketball team fell Saturday afternoon at The University of Nebraska Omaha 86-36, Michael Neff scored 8 points to lead the Tigers who are now 1-3.

 

Mt. Pleasant High School Panther Gym will have quite the basketball battle tonight when Williamsburg 2-0  ranked 7th in Class 3A girls basketball will battle the Class 4A 9th ranked MPHS girls team that is 1-1. M.P. opened the season with a win on the road at Durant-Bennett and then fell at home to Muscatine last week.  Williamsburg has picked up wins over Marion 55-40 and Benton Community 59-46,  Freshman teams will play at 4:45, followed by the JV game and then the varsity, KILJ-FM 105.5 and kilj.com will carry the varsity game live.

Tomorrow night the MPHS boy’s open up their season at home against Cedar Rapids Xavier.

 

KILJ-AM 1130 brings you Iowa State men’s basketball tonight, the Cyclones battle Auburn beginning at 5:30 p.m.

 

In collegiate wrestling Sunday the intrastate battle between Iowa and Iowa State took place in Ames with the #2 ranked Hawks winning over the 6th ranked Cyclones 23-9.  This is the 11th straight win for Iowa over Iowa State.

 

The Iowa High School State Wrestling Championships have been a sold out event for over 20 years and is the only Iowa High School Athletic Association reserved ticket event. 

Ticket sales for the state meet to IHSAA member high schools who host wrestling programs will begin Monday, December 2, 2013 at 10:00am and close Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 11:59pm. 

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 10:00am.  The public will be able to purchase tickets at the Iowa Events Center ticket office, any Dahl’s store, online at www.dahlstickets.com . The order limit will be eight (8) tickets.

The ticket price is $8.00 per ticket, plus a convenience fee of $1.75 per ticket.  There will be a $4.00 handling fee per order.  A valid credit card will be needed to make an online purchase.  The Iowa Events Center seating chart will be available identifying class 1A, 2A, and 3A mats.      All seats will be assigned in the order the transactions are processed either at a ticketing location or online.
