The Iowa Wesleyan College women’s and men’s basketball games scheduled with Fontbonne in Ruble Arena tonight have been postponed till February the 4th.  Some of the players from Fontbonne had trouble returning to school because of the weather.  KILJ-FM was to broadcast that double header.  KILJ-AM 1130 will have the Iowa State vs Baylor game beginning at 5:30 p.m. tonight.

AREA HIGH SCHOOL GAMES TONIGHT:  G&B DOUBLE HEADERS-Burlington @ Davenport North, Danville @ Notre Dame, Harmony @ West Burlington, Central Lee @ Van Buren, Ft. Madison @ Washington, L&M @ Waco, Pekin at WMU.

The latest boy’s basketball poll from the Associated Press has Iowa City West #1 in class 4A, Harlan tops 3A with Ft. Madison in the #9 spot.  Western Christian is #1 in class 2A.  LeMars Gehlen is #1 in class 1A, the Van Buren Warriors are ranked 10th this week.

In a game with a Heisman winner, a Heisman finalist and future NFL players everywhere, a true freshman Kermit Whitfield pulled Florida State off life support with a 100 yard kickoff return and helped the Seminoles comeback for a 34-31 victory over Auburn in the final BCS national championship game.

Zach Johnson shot seven-under par on Monday to take a one-stroke victory at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.
The Cedar Rapids native began the day two strokes back of the lead, but he pulled into first with a birdie on hole 14, and pulled away from there. The win earned Johnson over $1 million. Only Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Vijay Singh have won more often than Johnson in the last 10 years.
