Iowa Wesleyan College women’s basketball player Whitney Godden has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference  Player of the Week.

Godden had a team-high 23 points to lead the Tigers to the 86-81 win over the Beavers of Buena Vista College over the weekend.  Whitney has been  helping the Tigers continue their great start to the 2013-2014 season, the Tigers are 7-2 on the year.

Godden is averaging 11.7 points per game.  She is shooting 38.7% from the floor, hitting 37.7% of her 3-point attempts.  IWC will host Principia in women’s and men’s action tomorrow night, KILJ-FM 105.5 and kilj.com will be broadcasting live.

 

Steve Williamson has stepped into the role of Interim Director of Athletics at Iowa Wesleyan after former Director of Athletics, Mike Hampton, took a position in the Alumni office at IWC.  Williamson has played an instrumental role in the Tigers’ transition to the NCAA DIII ranks over the past year and has served as NCAA Compliance officer prior to taking the new position.

 Williamson will also remain as IWC’s Head Women’s Basketball Coach, he is currently in his 10th year in that position.
