The 15th ranked Mt. Pleasant Panther girl’s basketball team had their hands full with a talented Eddyville-Blakesburg-Freemont team in Panther Gym Tuesday night as they pulled out a 53-50 win.  Turnovers again plagued the Panther team as they turned the ball over 23 times and that led to 19 points for the Rockets.  Kelsi Phipps led M.P. with 17 points, Hannah Becker added 11.  The Mt. Pleasant freshman beat Eddyville 56-20 and the JV girls won 48-32.  Leading the E-B-F varsity in scoring, Tasha Alexander scored 25 points and Karlie Taylor scored 13.  Taylor has ties to Mt. Pleasant as she is the cousin of Leslie and Sidney Taylor, athletes for MPHS.  She also has ties to girls track coach at MPHS Dave Hutchcroft.

Her Mother Robin ( Rich )  Taylor  played basketball and ran hurdles for Dave at English Valley  High School when he coached there.  She was especially outstanding at basketball and went on to star for William Penn in Oskaloosa.
