Taxes, Transportation focus of second lawmaker forum Feb. 22

MOUNT PLEASANT—The Mount Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance Government Affairs Committee invites the public to a forum with area lawmakers Saturday, February 22, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Iowa Wesleyan College.

The forum topic is “Economic Strength: Helping Iowa grow through tax reform and infrastructure development.” Rep. Dave Heaton, R-Mount Pleasant, and Sen. Rich Taylor, D-Mount Pleasant, are both scheduled to attend. Joining them in discussion will be Mike Norris, Executive Director of Southeast Iowa Regional Planning Commission, who has broad knowledge of regional transportation systems and transportation funding. Jason Hutcheson, President and CEO of the Greater Burlington Partnership and a member of the Professional Developers of Iowa executive leadership team, will moderate.

Chamber Alliance Legislative Forums are the fourth Saturday of the month during the legislative session in the International Room of Chadwick Library on the Iowa Wesleyan College campus. The remaining 2014 schedule is as follows:
