The #1 ranked Mediapolis Bulldog wrestling team dominated Washington and Williamsburg last night on their home mat in Regional Team Dual meet wrestling action.  The Bulldogs beat Williamsburg 54-12 in the semifinal match and then crushed Washington 58-21.

Next Wednesday Mepo (23-5) will be in the State Team Dual Meet competition in class 2A.  Their first round foe at 11 a.m. will be Sergeant Bluff-Luton a team that is 20-0 in duals.  If they advance to the semifinals it would be wrestled at 1 p.m. against the winner of the Creston-Orient-Macksburg vs Clear Lake first round match.  The championship match will be at 6:30 p.m. There will also be consolation matches to determine all 8 team places.

The 3A Regional Dual team meets will be wrestled tonight, no area teams are involved in that. Class 3A area wrestlers including Mt. Pleasant will wrestle in the district at Burlington on Saturday February 15th, with Bettendorf, Davenport West, Ft. Madison, Keokuk, Muscatine, Pleasant Valley and Burlington.

The MPHS freshman boys lost to Muscatine by a score of 71-38, leading scorers were Brock Wilson 21 and Ryan Moutrie scored 7.  Freshman go to Keokuk Thursday for a make up game at the middle school.

The Harmony School District Board of Directors at their meeting Tuesday night voted on a 3-2 vote to pull out of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference and join the Blue Grass Conference.  Work begins today on the timing of that move.

Mt. Pleasant 8th grade boys played basketball at Edward Stone Middle School yesterday. 

In the “A” game M.P. won 73-19, Brady Sartorius scored 33 points.  In the “B” game M.P. won 50-22, Kyle Vanderham scored 11 points.


The Keokuk girls bowling team defeated Mt. Pleasant 2577 to 2483 in Keokuk yesterday.  High roller for the Panthers was Chelsea Sammons with a 428.

The Panther boys beat Keokuk 2797 to 2375, high roller for M.P. was Wolfgang Schumacher with a 395.


The Iowa Wesleyan Tiger women’s basketball team has a busy week of action, taking on Westminster College on tonight in Fulton, MO (6:00pm) and then hosting Blackburn College on Saturday in Mt. Pleasant (1:00pm).

The Iowa Wesleyan College men’s basketball team returns to action tonight also traveling to Fulton, MO to take on Westminster College (8:00pm) and then host Blackburn College on Saturday (3:00pm).
