William “Billy” Arthur Cahill, 53, of Riverside, Iowa, formerly of Farmington, Iowa passed away
Friday, April 11, 2014 at his home in Riverside, Iowa.
Born April 21, 1960, in Keosauqua, Iowa the son of Gary L. and Bonnie G. (Horsey) Cahill. He
was married to JoAnn Wagner from 1985 to 2006.
Survivors include his two daughters Aubrey and Emily Cahill at home, father Gary Cahill of
Farmington, Iowa and Gary’s special friend Cheryl Newman of Packwood, Iowa, two sisters
Penny Cahill (husband Keith Kozacik) of Washington, Iowa and Dixie (Deric) Saunders of
Bonaparte, Iowa and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Bonnie and his grandparents.
Billy was a 1978 graduate of Harmony High School where he served as Senior Class President.
He went on to receive his Associates Degree from Indian Hills College. He was an electronic
technician/instrumentation specialist at the University of Iowa since June of 1993. In his earlier
years, Billy was active in Boy Scouts, high school band and the Farmington United Methodist
Church Youth Group. He enjoyed science and math, working with computers and teaching
his daughters to play the guitar. Billy was a talented musician and a friend to all.
Friends may call after 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Farmington United
Methodist Church in Farmington, Iowa where the family will meet with friends from 1:00 to 2:00
p.m. that afternoon.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Greenglade
Cemetery with Lee McIntosh officiating.
Memorials may be made in his memory.
Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Farmington is assisting the family with arrangements.
