Healthy Communities plans S.O. Fun Day in Swedesburg and Olds

Written by on May 29, 2014 in News

Healthy Henry County Communities is working with local residents to plan a free community event to encourage individuals and families to enjoy some physical activity in a fun social setting. The S.O. Fun Day will be held on Saturday June 7th from 9:00am to Noon in both Swedesburg and Olds. The variety of kids activities and a scavenger hunt through both communities gives options for people of all ages and abilities to participate.
Activities will start in the Olds City Park from 9-10:30am with sports activities, face painting and the start of the scavenger hunt. At 10:00 you can meet at the Olds City Hall and walk or ride your bike to Swedesburg, stopping along the way to pick up another stamp for your scavenger hunt card. Prizes will be awarded! From 10:30-Noon there will be activities including games, an inflatable obstacle course, and balloon animals with Jellibean the Clown outside of Parish Hall in Swedesburg. The scavenger hunt will continue with a historical walk. If you don’t want to walk or ride back to Olds you can catch a mule and wagon ride back.
Healthy Communities is now looking for local organizations and businesses to help out by volunteering during the event or helping to sponsor. For more information contact Kelly at 319-385-6523 or carrk@hchc.org or visit facebook.com/HealthyHenryCounty.
