CINCH RODEO SHOOTOUT COMES TO THE TRI-STATE RODEO

The Tri-State Rodeo Operating Committee is pleased to announce the addition of the Cinch Rodeo Shootout to the 2014 event. The Cinch Rodeo Shootout will take place on Wednesday, September 3rd at the C.E. “Eddie” Richards Arena as part of the Tri-State Rodeo.
The Cinch Shoot-Out is a one-day event with an invitational format. Each of the seven events: bareback riding; saddle bronc riding; bull riding; barrel racing; team roping; tie-down roping and steer wrestling; will have eight contestants invited per event, including the top cowboys in the world standings. The long round will have all eight contestants compete in their respective event, and the top four scores or quickest times will advance to the shoot-out round. Those top-four will have the opportunity to pick their stock or out position (order). The contestant with the highest score or fastest time in the long round is given first pick, so they can choose whichever animal or out position best suits them or challenges the rest of the field to their advantage. Each contestant is interviewed by Boyd Polhamus, the emcee of the Tri-State Rodeo, in this process, so an explanation is given to the crowd. The four contestants then compete in the shoot-out round, and the champion is determined in a clean-slate fashion with the highest score or fastest time winning the prize money. Over $80,000 in prize money will be awarded.
The Cinch Rodeo Shootout will bring elite athletes, including many World Champions, to the Tri-State Rodeo in Fort Madison, Iowa. This event is sponsored by Cinch Jeans.
“We are very excited and honored to be chosen to be a venue for the Cinch Rodeo Shootout. We join the ranks of some of the biggest and best Rodeos in the country to host this competition. It will bring a whole new level of competition and excitement to our event,” commented General Chair, Bob Huffman.
The Tri-State Rodeo is a four day rodeo event running September 3rd-6th at the C.E. “Eddie” Richards Arena. Thursday through Saturday will feature PRCA Rodeo action followed by award winning, country star Lee Brice on Friday night and hit producing country hit, Easton Corbin on Saturday night. Tickets for all four nights are available online at www.tristaterodeo.org or by calling the ticket office at 319-372-2550.
