OSKALOOSA – A Des Moines woman was seriously injured Sunday when an all terrain vehicle (ATV) she was operating rolled over.

Roberta Curry, 36, was operating an ATV shortly after 4:30 p.m. at Bluff Creek OHV Park southwest of Oskaloosa. It is believed she hit a tree root causing the four-wheel vehicle she was operating to turn sharply and roll over. She was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, but it came off after impact.

Curry was life-flighted to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
The incident is being investigated by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
