Earl H. “Sonny” Scearcy

Earl H. “Sonny” Scearcy, 70, of Bonaparte died at 8:10 A.M. Thursday June 5, 2014 at Good Samaritan Society- Van Buren, Keosauqua. He was born November 17, 1943 at Hillsboro to Earl and Marcella June Tripp Scearcy. His marriages were to Sharon Theissen, Grace Gilchrist and Pronia Dele Cruz. Sonny was an over the road truck driver and an avid cook, hunter and fisherman.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Snodgrass of Kirksville, MO, a son, Earl Ralph Scearcy (Riea) of Belmond, five grandchildren, several step-children and step-grandchildren, five sisters, Alice Dickerson, Darlene Dean and Judy Scearcy of Keosauqua, Betty Printy (Bill) of Bentonsport and Mary Sederburg (Donald) of Mt. Sterling and two brothers, Mike Scearcy (Cindy) of Fairfield and Dale Scearcy (Roberta) of Mt. Sterling. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Linda Scearcy and a brother, Harvey Scearcy.

Funeral services will be at 4 P.M. Saturday June 7, 2014 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Larry Shipley officiating. Visitation will open at 3 P.M. Friday at the funeral home with family present 5-7 P.M. Cremation will follow the service with private burial of cremains in Vernon Cemetery. Memorials to Vernon Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 21909 Marion St., Keosauqua, IA 52565.
