Eddie Hall, age 66, of Ainsworth, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at his residence after a four year battle with cancer.
Celebration of life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2014, at the Ainsworth Community Church with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Masonic Lodge Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Ainsworth Community Church. Visitation will be held from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Ainsworth Community Church where the family will receive friends from 3:30 until 7:00 p.m. Interment with military honors conducted by Ainsworth American Legion Post 351 will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the K.A.A.B.A. Shrine Children’s Hospital Transportation Fund or the Ainsworth American Legion. Charles Edward “Eddie” Hall was born December 28, 1947, in Laurel, Nebraska, the son of Harold and Jean A. (Wood) Hall. He attended school in Ainsworth, Iowa, and graduated from Highland High School in 1966. Eddie served two years in the United States Air Force from 1966 until 1968. He was united in marriage to Ellen Kaufman on April 3, 1999.
Eddie lived in the Crawfordsville and Ainsworth communities most of his life. He owned and operated the Bryn Mawr Steakhouse since 1975. He was also an Insurance Agent for Insurance Solutions in Washington, Iowa.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, K.A.A.B.A. Shrine, and R.O.J.(Royal Order of the Jesters Court 129) He was a member of the Ainsworth American Legion Post 351 and the Washington County I Club. Eddie was an avid sports fan supporting the Hawkeyes, Green Bay Packers and St. Louis Cardinals. He enjoyed golfing, traveling to Lake of the Ozarks and St. Martin, and spending time with his family and friends.
Eddie is survived by his wife Ellen Hall of Ainsworth, IA; daughter, Theresa Hall of Washington, IA; step daughter, Cheryl Griffith and husband Kris of Riverside, IA; step son, Jeff Kaufman and wife Kim of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Miranda Burges, Dylan Kinman and Mya Kinman; step grandchildren, Hannah Petersen and husband Dallas, Mitchell Elliott, Cooper Kaufman, Ellie Kaufman and step great granddaughter, Henlee Petersen. He is also survived by four brothers, Michael Hall and wife Debby of Columbus Junction, IA; Kim Hall and wife Rebecca of Ainsworth, IA; Kevin Hall and wife Liz of Ainsworth, IA; Bruce Hall of Crawfordsville, IA; nieces and nephews, Ryan Hall and wife Kerri, Anna Marie Bone and husband John, Marcus Hall and wife Kaitlin, Kurtis Hall, Tad Hall, Keegan Hall and Tucker Hall, and great nieces and nephews, Ruthie Bone, and Michael, Rachel, Sam and Sarah Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Matt Kaufman.
