MPHS sports schedule:
7/1—MPHS baseball at Wapello 7:30 p.m.
7/2—MPHS softball at West Burlington-Notre Dame
7/3—MPHS softball and baseball at Washington
7/4—MPHS softball in tournament at University of Iowa softball complex
7/5—MPHS softball in tournament t University of Iowa softball complex
Mt. Pleasant played last night, the varsity game was played first. Ottumwa won 10 to 4. Losing pitcher was Brady Anderson. The JV game was rained out.
Sports from yesterday: for softball the New London Tigers played Danville last night. The started strong early with a 5-0 lead in the first inning and continued on to win 10-0. Winning pitcher was Morgan Christner. Today New London plays at Van Buren. Danville hosts West Burlington-Notre Dame.
In baseball: Notre Dame defeated Cardinal 7 to 5.
West Burlington beat Central Lee 11 to1.
Danville won over New London 10 to 2. The Bears had nine runs in the first inning alone.
Henry County Health Center is hosting a Coaching Clinic on Tuesday, July 15, from 5-8 p.m. at the HCHC Health Education Center. The clinic is open to all interested certified coaches and volunteer coaches.
The Coaching Clinic will cover the following topics:
- Dr. Joseph Tansey, Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon: Prevention of Athletic Injuries
- Danny Eversmeyer, EMT-P: When to call 911, CPR and First Aid Training
- Elise Klopfenstein, RD, LD, CDE, MPH: Nutrition: Separating Fact from Fiction
- Mandy Borchers, MS, LAT, ATC, CSCS: Injury Preparedness
- Andy Niemann, MS, ATC, LAT: Heat and Hydration
