NORTHEY TO VISIT HENRY, LEE AND DES MOINES COUNTIES ON SEPTEMBER 2nd

DES MOINES – Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey today announced that he will be visiting Henry, Lee and Des Moines Counties on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Northey will River Rock café, a past winner best breaded pork tenderloin, in Mt. Pleasant, tour Pinnacle Foods in Montrose and speak at the Mediapolis FFA’s 25th Annual Creelman Test Plot Field Day in Mediapolis.

Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014

Henry County – 1:00 p.m., visit River Rock Café, 2013 best breaded pork tenderloin winner by Iowa Pork Producers Association, 1529 253rd St., Mt Pleasant

Lee County – 3:00 p.m., tour Pinnacle Foods, 2467 Henry Ladyn Dr., Montrose (tour is closed to the media, Northey will be available for interviews before or after event)

Des Moines County – 6:00 p.m., speak at Mediapolis FFA 25th Annual Creelman Test Plot Field Day, corner of Hwy 99 and 225th St., Mediapolis

Northey, a corn and soybean farmer from Spirit Lake, is serving his second term as Secretary of Agriculture. His priorities as Secretary of Agriculture are promoting the use of science and new technologies to better care for our air, soil and water, and reaching out to tell the story of Iowa agriculture.
