The schedule this year begins with class 4A Ottumwa on the road August 29th, the Bulldogs were 3-6 last year with a 46-3 win over the Panthers. New teams on the schedule are Mediapolis in week two, they were 11-1 last season. Chariton reappears on the schedule in week 4, they were 4-5 last year. Week five sends Mt. Pleasant to Davenport Assumption for the Knights homecoming game, Assumption was a 4A school last year and had a record of 9-2. Rounding out the newbies is Clear Creek-Amana in week 6, they were a 4-5 team last year.

Coach Shawn Striegel is ready for his 2nd season as head coach and will have to depend on the help of backup players from last year and some contribution from a strong sophomore class.

A new head coach and a lot of new players will make up the 2014 Mt. Pleasant High School varsity volleyball team.
