  Veterans Appreciation Day

  Veterans Appreciation Day

  Veterans Appreciation Day will be held at the Roberts Memorial Center in Keosauqua from 5 to 8 pm. All veterans, family members and supports are invited. Sandwiches, sides, dessert and a drink will be served by freewill donation by the American Legion posts and Van Buren County Commission on Veterans Affairs. The National Anthem will be performed and there will be an auction and bake sale. Proceeds from the event go to Honor Flights of Southeast Iowa. Representatives from veterans departments will also be on hand.

  Mt. Pleasant High School students celebrate their prom. The promenade begins at 4:30. Students must register and be in line by 5 pm. Spectators can enter the building at 3:30 and use the west bleachers. Prom pictures will be taken from 2 to 5 pm. The dance is from 9 pm to noon. After Prom will be held at the High School from 12:30 to 3 am. There will be prizes and a hypnotist will perform. Food will be served.

  The 1st annual Deadwood Poker Tournament Party will be held at the Deadwood Saloon at the North Village in McMillan Park. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Main Street Office. Enjoy an evening with bandits, bankers, saloon girls, sheriffs, gamblers and more. The fun starts at 6 pm.
