Louisa County Fair: swine show at 8 am, dog show at 9, commodities carnival from 10 am to 4 pm, clogging performance from 11:30 to 12:30, Kickapoo Indian program from 12:30 to 1:30 and from 3 to 5, release and cleanup at 4 pm. Fair races at 7 and a teen dance at 9.

Thanksgiving in July Trivia

Fairfield Arts and Convention Center hosts Thanksgiving in July Trivia. Teams of eight compete in the trivia contest with 10 categories. Beverages will be available for purchase, there will be 50/50 raffle and more. The event benefits the Lord’s Cupboard. Participants are encouraged to bring a canned or boxed good. Tickets are $15 per person or $100 per table.

Wet and Wild: Critters on Iowa Rivers will be held at 7 pm at the Stone House in Bentonsport. It is free and suitable for all ages. Present Dr. Jim Pease will talk about the river’s flora and fauna, threats to wildlife and ways to protect them. Pease is the director of the Master Conservationist program and developer of the new Master River Sewards program. Pre-registartion is optional but appreciated. To do so, call 641-472-6177.
