Donnellson 4th Parade & Dinner

The Donnellson Fourth of July Parade has the theme “Honor our Defenders.” Registration is from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at the United Church of Christ. The parade begins at 6. Categories include religious, patriotic, children, family, organizations, political, miscellaneous, commercial and horses. Dinner will be served at the Donnellson Community Room following the parade. They will be serving maid rites, hot dogs, pie, ice cream and drinks. It is sponsored by the American Legion and TTT.

The last Swedish Pancake Breakfast for the summer is from 8 to 11 am at the Parish Hall. Swedish pancakes with potato sausage, a beverage and pastries are served for $6. It is sponsored by the Swedish Heritage Society. The Swedish American Museum will be open during the breakfast.

Symphonic Blast!

The first performance of the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra seasan is the annual “Symphonic Blast!” in Burlington’s Crapo Park. Starting at dusk (8:15), the concert will be a blend of popular and light classical music. As always, it will conclude with Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever and fireworks. This concert is offered free of charge with an opportunity to make a free-will donation to the orchestra.
