Winfield’s Crooked Creek Days starts today. The carnival is open from 1 to 11 pm. Dinner will be served by the Methodist Church at Twin Lakes at 5 pm and the Cardboard Boat Regatta starts at 6.

Fairfield’s First Friday Art Walk is from 6 to 10:30 pm in the City Square. Blue Cat Alley performs from 6 to 7:30 and then Bob Dorr and the Blues Band will perform from 7:30 to 10:30. There will be a bbq contest with audience judging. There will be food vendors, artist, area non-profit organizations and children’s activities.

Blue Ribbon Blues Fest

Southeast Iowa Blues Society present the Blue Ribbon Blues Fest starting at 4:30 pm at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. It’s an outdoor blues festival with four groups performing. There will also be a beverage garden and food vendors. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 the day of the show.

The dog show is at 9, there’s kids games from 9:30 to 11, the parade starts at 10 and the carnival opens at 11. A Vendor Fair is from 11 to 6. The adult co-ed slow pitch softball tournament starts at 11. Lunch is at 11, provided by the Open Bible Church. There’s an adult pizza eating contest at 12:30, a kids pedal pull at 1, the Bill Riley Talent Show at 5 and dinner is served at 5 by the Henry County Cattlemen. The auction begins at 6:30 and there’s a family friendly street dance from 8 to 11.
