    HC Heritage Trust Trivia Night

    The first annual Henry County Heritage Trust Trivia Night will be held at Jerry’s Restaurant. Doors open at 6 with questions beginning at 6:45. The majority of the questions will focus on the city, county and state’s people, place and events. Cost is $150 per table or $20 per person. A grazing buffet is available by freewill offering. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. There will be a silent auction and cash prizes. Proceeds benefit the Henry County Heritage Trust projects and the Donald Young Memorial Room.

    The Donnellson Fourth of July Parade has the theme “Honor our Defenders.” Registration is from 4:30 to 5:30 pm at the United Church of Christ. The parade begins at 6. Categories include religious, patriotic, children, family, organizations, political, miscellaneous, commercial and horses. Dinner will be served at the Donnellson Community Room following the parade. They will be serving maid rites, hot dogs, pie, ice cream and drinks. It is sponsored by the American Legion and TTT.

    The first performance of the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra seasan is the annual “Symphonic Blast!” in Burlington’s Crapo Park. Starting at dusk (8:15), the concert will be a blend of popular and light classical music. As always, it will conclude with Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever and fireworks. This concert is offered free of charge with an opportunity to make a free-will donation to the orchestra.
